ACsess Risk and data responsibility: navigating supply chain threats and the evolving legal landscape

We are delighted to announce that our next session of ACsess Risk will be on data responsibility, with a focus on navigating supply chain threats and the evolving legal landscape.

Recap: What is the aim of ACsess Risk?

This series is designed to help providers identify and address actual and potential risks that they face.

Each session will be focused on a key area of risk, featuring a briefing from experts at Anthony Collins and then time for discussion amongst attendees to share experiences, observations and ideas.

We will also have sessions that are attended by external experts who will provide their own unique outlook on risk management.

Topics will range from key issues surrounding the health and safety of residents, the regulation of social housing, how to tackle investigations/inquiries and much more.

What will the next session cover?

The session will be held on Thursday 12 February between 12:30pm and 1:30pm and will be on data protection. In particular, we will explore the legal and regulatory implications of third-party processors suffering data breaches for social housing and care providers. We’ll examine possible enforcement action by the ICO, the potential for claims exposure and the limitations of insurance coverage where organisations lack dedicated cyber policies.

We’ll also provide a practical update on data protection, privacy and cybersecurity, including the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, which received Royal Assent in June 2025, and the changes made regarding subject access, automated decision-making and recognised legitimate interests - all of which are key for providers.

We will be joined by Ben Pumphrey (head of data governance) and Lorna Kenyon-Pain (regulatory), who will each discuss their take on these issues as experts in their respective fields.

How can I sign up?

If you would like to join us or would like more information on our ACsess Risk webinars, then please contact Lorna Kenyon-Pain or Elizabeth Massey.
