The long-awaited Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act comes in today. This means that divorcing couples are no longer required to assign blame when divorcing.
We at Anthony Collins Solicitors have campaigned for this change in the law for many years. We hope that the changes will allow couples to avoid unnecessary conflict when separating, streamline the process and make it more accessible. Most importantly, where there are children involved, it will enable divorcing couples to remain amicable when separating, as doing so will make it easier to make parenting decisions in the future.
This is a good day for family practitioners and clients alike.
