Regulatory and Governance issues – Day 2 of the NHF Housing Finance Conference

Here are some thoughts from Peter Hubbard, senior partner and housing governance expert, on the emerging regulatory and governance themes on day 2 of the NHF Housing Finance Conference 2021.

So, we don’t need anyone to tell us that life is becoming more challenging. But it was interesting to hear yet again the key message of there are increasingly hard choices we need to make: how do we keep investing in our stock and build a healthy development pipeline? How does a business plan support the investments needed for asset maintenance and the safety of our residents whilst also driving new supply? And then how are we going to deliver on the carbon zero agenda – Jonathan Higgs of Raven Housing Trust spoke particularly well on this today – their current rough estimate is £18,000 per home.
