More than the bottom line

It was a pleasure recently to sit with Daniel Brewer and talk about the 20-year journey that Resonance has taken to bring together investors and those working to achieve change through social enterprise.

In our podcast, Dan describes how his journey started in manufacturing in a business where the bottom line - meaning the next quarter's profits - really was more important than everything else, and the stifling effect this has on innovation and any desire to make a difference.

For him, as for so many of us, social business was a revelation - the idea that you can run an enterprise, turn a profit, AND change the world.

Simple. Revolutionary. And here to stay.

Do have a listen.

Daniel Brewer from Resonance talks about his journey into investing in enterprise with a social purpose, and discusses with David Alcock and Emma Watt, from Anthony Collins Solicitors, what the landscape looks like for social businesses post Covid-19.
