The rent cap confirmed

The 7% rent cap (with an exception for supported housing) for tenants was announced nearly a month ago and since then I've had lots of clients ask me when we'll have written confirmation of that. Well, yesterday was the day.

To reduce your Google searches, here are the links to the documents that were published/updated:

  1. The Government's response to the consultation on the proposed rent cap.
  2. The Direction on the rent standard 2023 and updated policy statement on rents for social housing.

The Rent Standard has yet to be updated, but in any case, sets out the need to comply with the Policy Statement.

We are helping lots of clients with the implementation of rent reviews. Do get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
