How is the implementation of the new KCSIE 2022 going?

If you missed our blog post on the key updates, you can click here to read it.

The 2022 Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance (KCSIE) is now in force and we appreciate that certain parts of the guidance are unclear and so you may be experiencing difficulties in practically implementing the changes. Are you asking yourself questions like 'what are we required to do?'; 'how are we supposed to do it?', 'what are the consequences if something goes wrong?'. If this sounds familiar, we are here to help!

On 15 September 2022 at 10:00 am we will be hosting an education roundtable via Zoom and we have some additional places available. This is a free event under Chatham House rules to explore the KCSIE 2022 updates with a particular focus on the new recruitment/online checks element of due diligence. For many in the education sector, their recruitment for the Autumn 2022 term was already completed or underway when the guidance was first published and as the guidance did not come into force until 1 September 2022 you may not have had to consider the issue in full.

This is an opportunity for HR, operations and other professionals responsible for recruitment in the education sector to discuss different approaches to such searches, share experiences and best practice, learn from others in similar roles and positions as well as listen to the advice and practical tips our employment, education and regulatory teams here at Anthony Collins have to offer.

Place numbers are very limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. To confirm your attendance, please register using the link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

221. In addition, as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out an online search as part of their due diligence on the shortlisted candidates. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which the school or college might want to explore with the applicant at interview.
