Changes to building safety guidance

Whilst the Building Safety Act 2022 has become law, the exact details of the regime that will be implemented under it are still very much a work in progress.

We recently wrote a blog regarding the consultations released by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. As we emphasised in that blog, those consultations provide an opportunity for the sector to have its voice heard.

It was also recently announced that the Building Safety Factsheets (first published in July 2021 and updated on multiple occasions since) have been withdrawn. Since their withdrawal, we have seen the explanatory notes to the Act released, which can be found here.

The last couple of months shows that the building safety landscape is continuing to adapt and develop since the passing of the Building Safety Act 2022 into law. Those with obligations for higher-risk buildings must ensure they continue to monitor and track the guidance and updates being released by the Government and the Building Safety Regulator.
