Hopefully you will have seen the material published by my colleagues this week as part of Good Divorce Week. Resolution have produced a PDF for parents to use for guidance and support through the separation process. For any parents going through a divorce or separation, I strongly recommend downloading the guide - follow this link.
It takes you through the process and reminds parents that they are not alone. There are some really helpful tips for communication, co-parenting, how to find amicable outcomes in common points of friction and a jargon buster. Ultimately the aim is to ensure that issues remain child focussed and agreements can be reached where possible, to try and avoid undesirable outcomes.
This doesn’t prevent any parents from seeking legal advice along the way, and often having a solicitor advise on dispute resolution alongside co-parenting can be a very successful and cost-effective alternative to litigation through the courts.
