I was honoured to be asked to once again provide the legal update at another HQN gas safety masterclass conference on Wednesday morning.
The event was held virtually, with over 70 delegates in attendance from local authorities and registered providers. As always it was great to see so many familiar faces. There were many debates and thought-provoking questions around gas capping and the use of the EPA, alongside the sharing of best practice stories from organisations that are already maintaining high standards of gas compliance.
It was great to hear from Caroline Smith from WHG who is HQN accredited. She talked about the good practices that were maintained during difficult COVID times. What was particularly poignant was the efforts of the WHG executive team and SMT working closely and collaboratively with the local hospital. The Manor hospital enabled WHG to secure vaccines for all their frontline staff, enabling them to carry out essential work for their customers.
Caroline was particularly proud of their gas safety programme and the WHG team working together for the benefit of their customers. She emphasised the importance of maintaining communication with their customers and how the team had worked together to deliver an excellent service.
