Practical ways to prepare

Taking early steps to improve data understanding will help housing providers to get organised and stay one step ahead of the new regulatory requirements.

There will be some significant operational implications. For example, housing providers will need to review how information is structured, published and maintained currently. They may also need to change the way tenants’ requests are handled and review complaints handling procedures too. 

Our guide will help housing providers to identify the data and documents that might need to be shared and prepare accordingly. In some instances, it may be necessary to make changes to ensure tenants are able to access information easily, or redact personal or sensitive data from important documents, to ensure compliance with data protection laws and to avoid sharing information that is confidential or commercially sensitive.
