Renters Rights' Bill - timescale update

We now know that the Renters' Rights Bill (the Bill) will not be finalised before the summer recess, with the next stage of its parliamentary journey scheduled for the autumn.

Yesterday, the Bill had its third and final reading in the House of Lords, but with today (22 July) being the last day of the House of Commons sitting before the summer break, there is no longer time for the Bill to progress at this stage. The next stage - Commons consideration of the amendments from the Lords - is listed for 8 September. Here we expect some back and forth before the Bill is finalised and enacted.

So, the wait for reform continues. We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as the Bill progresses. Please visit our Renters' Rights Bill Hub - where you can find further insights and more information.
