Welcome to ACcess Development

We are delighted to announce the first of our ACcess Development Club sessions on 29 April 2025.

What is the aim of ACcess Development?

Each session will cover a current issue facing developing housing associations. The session will feature a panel of speakers, featuring experts from Anthony Collins and external speakers. There will then be opportunities for discussion amongst attendees to share experiences, observations and ideas.

Upcoming topics will include:

  • the effect of Awaab’s Law on defects;
  • the new affordable homes programme; and
  • planning issues.

What will the first session cover?

Our first session will be held on 29 April, 12.30pm-1.30pm and will focus on the effect of Awaab’s Law on defects procedures. We will look at a summary and the likely timescales of the proposed legislation, the effect of Awaab’s Law, emergency repairs and the expected extension of Awaab’s Law in 2026 and 2027. We will further look at the impact of arrangements in existing development agreements, the gap between Awaab’s Law, standard DFLP procedures and structural guarantees and the resulting governance issues.

We will be joined by development specialists Lucy Worrall, Tom Starkey and housing litigation specialist Suzanne Gregson, who will discuss their take on these issues as experts in their respective fields.
