In the Queen's Speech today, the Government announced a bill to reform the planning system to assist in the building of more homes. This is at a time when the Local Government Association (LGA) has recently indicated that 1.1 million homes have been granted planning permission in England within the last decade, which are still yet to be built; perhaps councils should be given the powers to ensure that these homes are constructed first.
